Chemoport (or port-a-cath) is a medical device implanted under the skin, typically used for long-term administration of chemotherapy, intravenous medications, blood transfusions, or frequent blood draws. It consists of a small chamber (port) connected to a catheter that is placed into a large vein, usually near the collarbone.
Chemoport Insertion Purpose: To provide easy and frequent access to the venous system, reducing the need for repeated needle insertions.
Chemoport Removal Purpose: To safely remove the chemoport after it is no longer needed.
Dr. Abhijit Budhkar perform both chemoport insertion and removal procedures, ensuring safe and effective venous access for patients undergoing long-term treatment.
